Hearty Chili

1 lb. lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (15 oz) dark or light red kidney beans
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt

Brown ground beef with onion and bell pepper in a large saucepan.  Drain.  Add tomatoes, beans, tomato paste, chili powder, and salt.  Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat, simmer 1 hour.

Makes about 6 cups.

**Add 1 can of whole kernel corn, drained if desired
